Learn how to cut single and double mats using a Logan Mat Cutter.  Students will actually cut their own mats to fit a frame and painting/photograph.  If you have a mat cutter, we will teach you how to use it!  Just bring a mat or two if you want a double mat, picture frame, and backing board, plus hardware for the back.  We will supply the rest!

A popular workshop instructor and internationally recognized watercolor artist, Alicia Farris will share her studies of the human face and figure in this three-day watercolor workshop.  Using Alicia’s characteristic loose and colorful style, you will learn techniques to portray not just a likeness, more importantly, the personality and emotion of the human face or a subject.  Students will benefit from demonstrations as well as discussion, individual and group critiques.

This class is intended for the painter who has at least a basic command of the watercolor medium; portrait painting is not a pre-requisite.  

Sample photos for the first day will be supplied to all students who register along with the supply list.  Students will have the opportunity to work from their own photo if they wish during the workshop. Class size limited

Project # 1 - Flower Earrings 

You will have a choice from a limited color of beads and will be provided Sterling Silver ear wires to complete these sweet beaded earrings.

Course Description: During this 3-week course, MAOM’s resident jewelry artist, Rosanne Sartori, will teach three different jewelry projects, all designed by Deborah Roberti. The projects will increase in difficulty, but Rosanne will teach you tips and tricks that will prepare you to tackle these and any future projects you may want to attempt. Handouts and all supplies will be provided…but be sure to bring your own magnifying glasses! 


Project # 2 -  Skinny Bracelet 

You will make an elegant bracelet from Swarovski crystals and seed beads. There will be a choice from a limited amount of colors.

Project #3 - Cordelia's Bracelet

This stunning bracelet is made with Swarovski crystals, Czech fire-polished beads and seed beads. There will be a choice from a limited amount of colors. 


Dates: 3 consecutive Thursdays 

June 6, 13th and 20th

Time: 1:00 – 3:30pm*  (*Students may stay later if project is not complete)
