Exploring With Watercolor: Mixing, Matching and Mingling
In this workshop students, through various exercises and explanations, will be able to take their paintings to a new level. Students will learn the terminology of color, compare and contrast colors, match colors to a photograph, learn which paints on their palette are warm and cool, transparent or opaque, how to create colors starting with a gray base, produce paintings that display various temperatures, how to paint dark backgrounds, and much more. You will leave with a new understanding of color.
This workshop is for anyone wanting to expand their knowledge of color through the watercolor medium.
Cost: $100.00
When: Saturday October 10th, 10 a.m.-3:30p.m. We will break for a short lunch.

What’s Provided: Color swatches, binder pages, palette with 10 colors, 36 page booklet (These items are yours to keep)
What to Bring: Pencil and eraser, Board to paint on, masking tape, water container, one larger round brush, one flat brush at least a ½ inch, a palette with a large mixing area or a white plate, any and all watercolor paint that you currently own, scrap or inexpensive watercolor paper for color experimentation, 2 pieces of watercolor paper (140 lb. cold press)at least 8 x 10 size.

Award winning artist, Lee Copen is offering a workshop focusing on trees, clouds and rocks. This is an oil painting workshop focusing on improving natural forms found in the landscape.

In this workshop, Lee will be focusing on creating realistic depth and atmospheric perspective in your landscape painting.
Lee Copen is a retired art teacher from Mountain View, Mo.
She travels around the country to invitational pleinaire events where she has won many awards for her realistic paintings.
Her work is found in many public and private collections throughout the United States and abroad.
